Dumpster rentals are needed for construction, demolition, and home improvements.
People who are unfamiliar with the procedure or how to determine the appropriate dumpster are at a disadvantage. Therefore, they make several dumpster rental mistakes in Buffalo, NY that may cost them time and money.
This article aims to prevent our potential customers from making a mistake when renting a dumpster. Take some time for yourself and write down important points that will come in handy when renting a dumpster from Dumpster Dudez.
Underestimating the Size of the Dumpster You Need
It is common for people to rent a dumpster that is too small for their needs. Some may have underestimated the amount of waste their project would generate or the cost.
It is better to rent a larger dumpster for your project because, in some cases, you may generate more waste than you anticipate, resulting in you having to hire another dumpster and incurring more costs. For a particular project, renting a larger dumpster is cheaper than getting two smaller ones.
Unsafe Placement of a Dumpster
Some homeowners have their dumpsters delivered to an unsightly location. The consequences of a runaway bin could be severe if you don't work with a company with professional operators like Dumpster Dudez. Winter, late fall, or early spring are times when such situations occur.
Additionally, ensure that the driveway to your chosen location is free of obstacles such as trees and objects. The delivery truck needs to get in and out without any obstructions quickly.
For this reason, choose a flat, obstacle-free area in your premises where the dumpster will be placed, or call us today for tips on how to pick the right dumpster location.
Garbage Disposal of Hazardous Materials
You are not allowed to throw restricted items in the dumpster for the safety of you, your family, and the environment. Hazardous items can cause pollution of the environment, which is why your area's laws and regulations should be followed when disposing of them.
The following items are prohibited from being disposed of in the dumpster:
- Gasoline
- Chemicals used for household cleaning
- Old Paint
- Battery
- Aerosols
- Tires
- Bulb types: fluorescent
- Gas tanks, etc.
- Overfilling a dumpster
Some homeowners fill their dumpsters beyond their maximum capacity. Not covering the dumpster, loading the dumpster onto the truck will be easy, and dirt may fall into the road.
This is why you must know the maximum capacity of the dumpster you hire to avoid dumpster rental mistakes, excessive charges, or fines.
Wrong Rental Period
There's nothing worse than underestimating when your project will be finished, only to find out the dumpster will arrive earlier than you thought. Occasionally, projects may run behind schedule, so they might want to keep the dumpster longer than expected.
If you cannot get the exact timing for your project, calling Dumpster Dudez is your best bet if you cannot make a good calculation while renting a dumpster in Buffalo, NY.
